Description

Vitaplex Vitamin Complex at a glance

Vitaplex Vitamin Complex is a ready made multi vitamin powder for skin and hair care. It combines five vitamins: B3 as niacinamide, B5 as calcium pantothenate, C as sodium ascorbyl phosphate, E as tocopheryl acetate and B6 as pyridoxine. Maltodextrin, sodium starch octenylsuccinate and silica act as carriers that keep the oil-soluble vitamin E dispersible in water. The INCI is Niacinamide, Calcium Pantothenate, Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Pyridoxine HCl, Maltodextrin, Sodium Starch Octenylsuccinate, Silica. It is a dense white crystalline powder from Switzerland, used at 0.5 to 3%.

Five vitamins, one weighing

Niacinamide and B6

Vitamin B3 is known for a more even looking tone, smaller looking pores and a stronger barrier. Vitamin B6 supports balanced looking skin and is common in care for oily skin.

Pantothenate

Vitamin B5 brings moisture and comfort to skin and hair.

Vitamin C and E

Sodium ascorbyl phosphate is a stable, water-soluble vitamin C derivative that supports a brighter look and antioxidant protection. Vitamin E acetate adds oil-soluble antioxidant care. Together they protect skin against daily stress.

What it does

The supplier lists a broad profile: support for the skin's own collagen, neutralizing free radicals, a more even complexion, help against the signs of aging, skin renewal and better color and texture. In hair care the complex nourishes the hair, adds shine and silkiness and helps protect it from UV stress. On the pack, use visual claims such as brighter, more even and smoother looking skin and shinier, silkier hair.

How to formulate

Addition point

The best way is to add the powder below 40 °C, into the active phase or at the end of the process. It disperses easily in cold water. If needed, it can go into a hot process formula, and it tolerates short heating up to 90 °C, which gives flexibility in production.

pH

The complex has a pH of 6.8 to 9.0. Vitamin C phosphate is most stable at pH 6 and above, so formulate the finished product at about pH 6 to 7. Avoid acidic serums as a vehicle.

Partners

The complex can be boosted with extra niacinamide for a stronger tone message, and with hyaluronic acid for hydration. More vitamin actives are listed in the cosmetic actives section.

Product ideas

Multi vitamin day creams, vitamin serums, brightening lotions, appearance-focused cosmetic night creams, sheet masks, shampoos and conditioners with a vitamin message and hair masks for shine are the main uses.

Sample recipe: multi vitamin day cream, 100 g

Distilled water 72.00 g, glycerin 3.00 g, glyceryl stearate citrate 4.00 g, cetearyl alcohol 3.00 g, caprylic/capric triglyceride 7.00 g, squalane 3.00 g, shea butter 2.00 g, xanthan gum 0.30 g, Vitaplex Vitamin Complex 3.00 g, panthenol 0.50 g, preservative 1.00 g, fragrance 0.20 g, citric acid solution 1.00 g. Heat water and oil phases to 75 °C, emulsify, cool to below 40 °C, disperse Vitaplex in a little cold water and add it with panthenol, the preservative and fragrance, and adjust to about pH 6.5.

Labeling

The eight INCI names give a rich vitamin label that consumers recognize. Marketing copy can speak of a vitamin B, C and E complex.

Why a powder complex

Weighing five vitamins separately takes time and adds five lines to purchasing and quality control. One powder at one dose simplifies all of this. The carriers keep vitamin E dispersible in water, so no separate oil phase step is needed for it.

Storage

Store in a cool, dark place in a tightly closed container. A certificate of analysis comes with every lot.
