Description
What Tripeptide-10 Citrulline is
Tripeptide-10 Citrulline, CAS 960531-53-7, is a short synthetic peptide that includes citrulline, an amino acid naturally present in the skin's moisturizing factors. Supplier literature describes it as mimicking a fragment of decorin, a small proteoglycan that binds to collagen fibers and helps keep them evenly spaced and organized. The idea is easy to explain to shoppers: organized fibers, smoother and more supple-looking skin. This page sells the peptide as a powder by the gram.
Properties
The powder dissolves in water and forms a clear solution, so it suits clear serums and gels as well as emulsions. In finished products it is positioned for smoother texture, a more elastic and supple look and an improved feel of the skin surface. Because it targets a different part of the matrix story than palmitoyl peptides, it adds variety to multi-peptide products.
Applications
The record lists skin care for appearance-focused, moisturizing and restorative products and hair care. In skin care, typical products are firming serums, moisturizing creams, eye creams and neck creams. In hair care, brands use it in leave-in conditioners and scalp serums for a stronger, more supple feel. It combines well with Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-4 Powder and with 9837 Powder, another proteoglycan-themed peptide. See more in our peptide powders section.
How to dissolve and add it
Weigh the powder with a precise balance. Dissolve it fully in a small amount of distilled water until clear, then add the dissolved peptide to the cooled batch below 40 °C with gentle mixing. Avoid long heating afterwards. Take the use level from the supplier documentation for your lot.
A proteoglycan-themed duo
Decorin and lumican are both proteoglycans that organize collagen. Combining Tripeptide-10 Citrulline, linked to decorin, with Acetyl Tetrapeptide-9, linked to lumican, gives a coherent story for a firming serum. Dissolve each peptide separately, add them one after the other and keep each within its CoA range. Add a humectant for immediate comfort and a light gel texture for daily use. In hair care, the same peptide fits leave-in conditioners and scalp serums; add it after any cationic conditioning agents and check clarity, then present the product around hair that feels stronger and more supple.
Compatibility
Tripeptide-10 Citrulline is compatible with glycerin, hyaluronic acid, panthenol, niacinamide, amino acids, plant extracts and other peptides. It suits gels, serums, emulsions and leave-in hair products. Avoid strong acids, strong bases, oxidizers and long heating. Copper peptides belong in a separate product.
