Formulating guidance

Add the active below about 40 °C into the water phase. Check the pH of the finished product. For an immediate effect, combine it with a film-forming polymer or a plant protein film-former. For a peptide angle, add Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-4 or palmitoyl tripeptide-1 and palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7. Hydration helps every firmness claim, so include a hyaluronic acid. Use wording that matches the two effects: an instant tightening feel and, over time, firmer-looking, smoother skin. Support claims with tests on the finished product, including immediate sensory evaluation and multi-week perception studies. Avoid surgical comparisons.

Application technique

Original recipe: instant-lift face serum, 100 g

Purified water 83.40 g, glycerin 3.00 g, propanediol 3.00 g, hydroxyethylcellulose 0.50 g, IO Tightening-Feel Active Liquid 4.00 g as an example level per CoA, hydrolyzed vegetable protein film-former 3.00 g, sodium hyaluronate 0.20 g, panthenol 1.00 g, preservative 1.00 g, fragrance 0.10 g, polysorbate 20 0.30 g, citric acid solution 0.50 g. Make a lump-free slurry of the cellulose and hyaluronate in the glycols, then add water and mix until hydrated. Below 40 °C add the film-former, panthenol and the active. Premix fragrance with polysorbate, add with preservative and adjust pH to about 5.5.

Storage

Close the bottle firmly and keep it in a cool, shaded place.
