Description
Salicylic acid is the best-known beta hydroxy acid and a staple of salon peels for oily skin. Its oil solubility lets it reach into oily areas of the skin surface, which is why it appears in products for shine and visible pores. Salicylic Acid 20% Peel is a concentrated professional product, and handling it well is part of using it well.
Product data
Professional salicylic acid peel. Typical applications: peels, masks, lotions, creams for daily use, natural cosmetics and beauty salons. The exact composition, solvent and pH are confirmed on the supplier CoA for each lot.
Professional use only
A concentrated peel belongs in trained hands. Salons follow the supplier's protocol for skin preparation, application time and removal, and they assess each client before the service. Clients with sensitive or sensitive-skin cosmetic formulas, and those using other strong actives, need special consideration.
Regulations for home products
Many markets limit salicylic acid in consumer products and require warnings, for example about use on children. If you develop daily lotions or creams from this material, dilute it to a compliant level, follow labeling rules and confirm with a safety assessment.
Product formats
Salon peel
A professional service for oily skin.
Clarifying mask
A diluted rinse-off mask.

Formulating guidance
For diluted home products, add the peel to a compatible solvent system, check clarity and pH and keep the finished level within regulations. Pair it with niacinamide for oil balance and D-Panthenol and aloe vera gel for comfort. More ingredients are listed under actives.
Claims
Use cosmetic wording such as smoother, clearer-looking skin, refined-looking pores and less shine. Support numbers with tests on the finished product.
Who the products are for
Salons offering peels, and customers with oily skin and visible pores when products are properly diluted.
Sun advice
Salons should give clients written aftercare advice.
Handling
Wear gloves and eye protection when handling the concentrate. Keep it away from eyes and mucous membranes.
Solubility
Salicylic acid dissolves poorly in water and better in alcohol and glycols. Check the supplier's solvent system before diluting.
Testing
Run stability at room temperature and 40 °C, checking crystallization, pH and color.
Packaging
Acid-resistant glass or plastic, with clear professional labeling.
Batch quality
Keep the CoA for each lot and store retained samples.
Range planning
A salon peel, a home lotion and a mask form a professional-to-home line.
Original recipe: diluted clarifying lotion, 100 g
Purified water 72.20 g, ethanol 10.00 g, propanediol 8.00 g, Salicylic Acid 20% Peel 5.00 g as an example dilution to a compliant level, niacinamide 2.00 g, panthenol 1.00 g, glycerin 1.00 g, allantoin 0.20 g, preservative 0.60 g. Mix the peel with ethanol and propanediol, add to the water with niacinamide, panthenol, glycerin and allantoin, then the preservative. Check the final salicylic acid level against local limits and measure pH.
Salon aftercare
After a peel, skin can feel tight and look slightly pink for a short time.
Record the lot number in your batch log so every production run can be traced back to its certificate of analysis. Retain a small sample of each lot for at least the shelf life of the finished product, since it makes later quality questions much easier to answer.
Storage
Keep the container closed in a cool, dry place, away from children.
