Description
This ingredient at a glance
Ceramide Oil-Soluble Paste is a pasty substance that dissolves in oils and other lipids. The card gives a working pH range of 4.0 to 8.0 and an unusually long list of uses across skin and hair: moisturizers, sunscreen lotions, after-sun products, hair dye, strengthening phytosprays, shampoos, masks, hair styling products, appearance-focused cosmetic cosmetics and vitamin products for the skin.Check the INCI name and composition on the supplier data sheet and CoA before writing the label.
Lipids and the skin barrier
The outer layer of the skin works like a brick wall. Cells are the bricks, and a mix of ceramides, fatty acids and cholesterol forms the mortar. Lipid ingredients in cosmetics help support that mortar so skin feels smoother and loses less water. Hair benefits too, as lipids help the cuticle look smoother and shinier.
Product formats
Moisturizers
Add it to the oil phase of day and night creams for a comforting, barrier-focused story.
Sun and after-sun care
The card lists sunscreen lotions and after-sun products. SPF always depends on tested filters.
Hair care
Shampoos, masks, styling products and strengthening sprays are listed. In hair dye products, lipids help keep hair feeling soft.
appearance-focused cosmetic care
Rich creams and serums for mature skin are a natural fit.
Processing
Weigh the paste into the oil phase and warm gently until it melts and blends evenly. Emulsify as usual. In sprays and shampoos, pre-blend it with a solubilizer so it disperses evenly in the water base. Keep the final pH between 4.0 and 8.0.
Good partners
The Membrane Lipid Complex shares the barrier story. Oat seed oil adds a soft, comforting feel. Find more lipids in the actives catalog.
Testing
Measure transepidermal water loss and skin hydration before and after use. For hair, test combing and shine on tresses.

Lot records
Keep each CoA with the batch file and note the lot used in every product.
Lipids for hair
Hair loses lipids through washing, coloring and heat styling. Lipid ingredients help the surface look smoother and shinier and make strands feel softer. The card lists strengthening phytosprays, shampoos, masks and styling products, so this ingredient can follow a hair line from cleansing to finishing. In sprays, pre-blend the paste with a solubilizer so it stays evenly dispersed in the water base.
After-sun and vitamin products
Sun, wind and dry air leave skin feeling tight. After-sun lotions with lipids and humectants help skin feel comfortable again. The card also lists vitamin products for the skin, so it can sit next to vitamin E or vitamin A derivatives in the oil phase of a rich cream.
Range ideas
A barrier cream, an after-sun lotion and a repairing hair mask can share the same lipid technology and a simple, comforting story.
