NAD+ stands for nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, CAS 53-84-9. Over the last few years, the molecule has moved from biology textbooks into skin care marketing, where it is linked to the idea of skin that looks energized, radiant and youthful. This page sells NAD+ as a powder by the gram. Our product record lists it as water-soluble. INCI, purity and use level are printed on the CoA for each lot. A liquid active built on the same theme is listed separately as IO Restorative Active Liquid.
NAD+ is a fairly large, water-soluble molecule that is sensitive to heat, light and extreme pH. In cosmetic products it is used for its modern, science-led story: brands describe it as supporting a more radiant, rested and resilient look, especially for dull and mature-looking skin. It is chemically related to niacinamide, which forms part of its structure, and the two are often combined.
The record lists appearance-focused cosmetic serums, creams and emulsions, concentrates and boosters, products for dull and aging-looking skin, scalp serums and tonics, and personal care products. Popular formats are single-dose ampoules, two-phase boosters, night serums and scalp tonics. It pairs naturally with Niacinamide and with peptides. Dissolve the powder in a small amount of cool distilled water, stirring until clear. Add the solution during cool-down, below 40 °C, under gentle mixing. Keep the finished pH mild, roughly 5.5 to 7.0, and avoid long exposure to light during production. Take the use level from the CoA for your lot.
Sensitive actives reward careful packaging. Use opaque or airless containers, keep production batches small and fresh, and store finished goods cool. Some brands choose anhydrous or two-compartment formats, where the powder is mixed into a liquid by the consumer just before first use, to keep the active stable. Track color and odor during stability tests and keep retained samples.
NAD+ is compatible with niacinamide, glycerin, panthenol, hyaluronic acid, peptides and mild plant extracts. Avoid strong acids, strong bases, oxidizers and long heating. Metal ions can speed up degradation, so a chelator is a good addition. Test it with your preservative system, since preservatives with extreme pH requirements may not suit it. In scalp tonics, combine it with peptides and caffeine in a light hydroalcoholic base, keeping ethanol moderate so the active is not stressed during storage.
Form: powder. Chemical name: nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide. CAS: 53-84-9. Solubility: water. INCI, purity and shelf life: on the CoA. Addition point: cool-down.
Phase A: distilled water 86.40 g, glycerin 3.00 g, sodium phytate 0.10 g, hydroxyethylcellulose 0.50 g; hydrate until clear. Phase B: niacinamide 4.00 g, panthenol 1.00 g dissolved in phase A. Phase C below 40 °C: NAD+ 0.50 g dissolved in distilled water 3.00 g, preservative compatible with mild pH 1.00 g, fragrance-free soothing extract 0.50 g. Mix gently, adjust pH to about 6.0 and fill into opaque airless pumps.
Record the lot number in your batch log so every production run can be traced back to its certificate of analysis. Retain a small sample of each lot for at least the shelf life of the finished product, since it makes later quality questions much easier to answer.
Keep the powder sealed in a cool, dry place, protected from light; refrigeration is helpful. Write the opening date on the pack. Close the container right after weighing. Ships from Florida in gram packs.
