Description
Plants use cytokinins to manage growth and slow the aging of their leaves. Kinetin is one of these molecules, and it moved into skin care decades ago as an appearance-focused cosmetic ingredient. The supplier specification lists appearance-focused cosmetic creams and serums, creams for the look of age spots.
Product data
Cytokinin active. Solubility: in an acidic environment. Typical applications: appearance-focused cosmetic creams, appearance-focused cosmetic serums, gels, masks, creams for the look of age spots, protective creams. The supplied form, concentration and recommended level are confirmed on the supplier CoA for each lot.
Background
Kinetin, also called N6-furfuryladenine, is a small molecule studied in plant biology and later in cosmetic science. Skin care brands use it in products for mature and sun-exposed skin, often next to antioxidants. Claims for your product must come from your own tests and the supplier's documentation.
Dissolving kinetin
The supplier specification notes that it dissolves in an acidic environment. A practical approach is to pre-dissolve it in a small part of the water phase lowered with citric or lactic acid, stir until clear and then add this premix to the main batch. Finally, raise the pH of the finished product to a skin-friendly target and check that the solution stays clear.

Formulating guidance

Claims
Keep claims cosmetic: younger-looking, smoother, more even-looking skin. Support numbers with instrumental or panel tests on the finished product.

Original recipe: daily appearance-focused cosmetic serum, 100 g
Purified water 83.40 g, citric acid solution 0.50 g, kinetin 0.10 g as an example level per CoA, glycerin 3.00 g, propanediol 4.00 g, niacinamide 3.00 g, sodium hyaluronate 0.30 g, hydroxyethylcellulose 0.60 g, panthenol 1.50 g, preservative 1.00 g, sodium hydroxide solution 2.60 g. Dissolve kinetin in part of the water acidified with citric acid. Disperse cellulose and hyaluronate in the glycols, add the remaining water and hydrate. Add the kinetin premix, niacinamide, panthenol and preservative, then raise pH to about 5.5 with sodium hydroxide solution.
Combining with antioxidants
At night, a richer cream with peptides completes it.
Range planning
A serum, a protective day cream and a night gel can share kinetin and form a compact appearance-focused cosmetic line for mature, sun-exposed skin.
Storage
Keep the container closed in a cool, dry, dark place.
