Description

Hydrofiltrat Menyanthes G at a glance

Hydrofiltrat Menyanthes G is a liquid botanical extract with the INCI Glycerine (and) Water (and) Menyanthes Trifoliata Extract. It mixes with water. The supplier specification lists appearance-focused cosmetic toning cosmetics, body firming products, lifting products and protective creams. The glycerin and water carrier makes it alcohol-free and easy to add to watery bases. Confirm the extract ratio and dose on the certificate of analysis.

Bogbean, a wetland botanical

Menyanthes trifoliata grows in bogs, marshes and shallow lakes across Europe, Asia and North America. It has three-part leaves and white, fringed flowers. In European herbal tradition, the bitter leaves were used in tonics. In cosmetics, bogbean extract appears in toning and firming products, where it supports a fresher, more toned look of the skin. It is a less common botanical, which gives a brand a distinctive ingredient story.

Formats

Toning appearance-focused cosmetic care

Toners and serums with a toning, refreshing message are the main use.

Body firming

Body gels and lotions for a firmer-looking skin on the arms, thighs and abdomen are listed in the supplier specification.

Lifting products

Contour serums and creams for the face and neck can carry the extract.

Protective creams

Creams that protect against wind and cold are listed too.

How to use it

Add the extract to the water phase at cool-down, below 40 °C, and stir until uniform. It can tint very clear products slightly. Account for the glycerin it adds when you balance humectants in the formula. Use a robust preservative system.

Partners

Toning and firming concepts combine well with other botanicals and caffeine. Caffeine supports a body-firming story, and Radiancyl adds a maca extract for vitality-themed care. More plant extracts are listed in the botanical extracts catalog.

Toning body gel recipe, 100 g

Distilled water 83.50 g, Hydrofiltrat Menyanthes G 5.00 g, caffeine 1.50 g, propanediol 3.00 g, carbomer 0.50 g, sodium hydroxide solution 1.10 g, menthyl lactate 0.30 g, PEG-40 hydrogenated castor oil 0.80 g, fragrance 0.20 g, panthenol 1.00 g, phenoxyethanol and ethylhexylglycerin 1.00 g, glycerin 2.10 g. Dissolve caffeine in warm water, cool, disperse the carbomer, add glycerin and panthenol, neutralize, dissolve menthyl lactate and fragrance in propanediol and solubilizer, add them, then add the extract and preservative below 40 °C.

Protective creams for cold weather

Cold, wind and low humidity dry out the skin quickly. Protective creams use a richer oil phase and barrier ingredients. A botanical extract adds a care story to these practical products, which are popular for outdoor sports and winter use.

Dose guidance

Follow the technical sheet. Botanical extracts in glycerin are often used at a few percent. Higher levels add more glycerin, which can make light gels slightly sticky.

Telling the story

Consumers rarely know bogbean, so a short explanation helps: a wetland plant from northern regions, traditionally used in herbal tonics. Keep the claim on the toned, fresh look of the skin.

Alcohol-free advantage

Many traditional plant extracts are made with alcohol. Glycerin-based extracts avoid the drying feel and the odor of alcohol and suit sensitive-looking skin and children's products better.

Storage

Store tightly closed in a cool place, away from light.
