Description

What FucoLife GR is

FucoLife GR is a low molecular weight polysaccharide, about 11 kDa on average, produced by controlled bacterial fermentation of non-GMO plant substrates and supplied as a dry powder on a non-GMO maltodextrin carrier. Its backbone combines L-fucose, D-galactose and galacturonic acid. The French manufacturer positions it for mature skin, especially women over 50, and for dry, reactive skin. It is a cosmetic raw material for formulators.

Specification and regulatory profile

The INCI is Maltodextrin, Biosaccharide Gum-3. The powder contains no preservative, the manufacturer states 100% natural origin content under ISO 16128 and verification by Ecocert Greenlife to the COSMOS standard, and it is listed as authorized for cosmetic use in the US, the EU, Japan and China. Lot data are on the CoA.

How it differs from Biosaccharide Gum-1

Biosaccharide Gum-1 is the larger, gel-forming fucose polysaccharide prized for slip and moisture film; see Biosaccharide Gum-1 and Maltodextrin Powder. FucoLife GR is a smaller molecule chosen as a cosmetic product active rather than a texture agent, so it adds little viscosity and is dosed at a fixed 2%.

Dose and dissolution

Use level

The manufacturer recommends 2% of the finished formula. At that rate a 100 g pack covers about 5 kg of finished product, and a 500 g pack about 25 kg.

Dissolving the powder

Sprinkle it into the water phase under stirring before adding gums or emulsifying, and mix until fully dissolved; it also performs in water-light balms when predissolved in the small water fraction, as the manufacturer's oily balm formula shows. Keep the finished pH mild and run stability on the final product.

Product concepts

Typical homes are menopause-positioned day and night creams, eye contour creams, comfort balms, leave-on cosmetic use night masks and serums for dry, sensitive-looking skin. Keep claims on appearance and feel, for example skin that looks smoother and feels more comfortable. It sits with other functional powders in our cosmetic actives section, and pairs naturally with Palmitoyl Tripeptide-8 Solution in a comfort serum.

Packs and storage

Sold in 10 g, 30 g, 100 g, 250 g and 500 g packs from Florida with a CoA. Polysaccharide powders pick up moisture, so keep the jar closed, cool and dry and weigh with a dry spatula.
