Description

This ingredient at a glance

The supplier recommends 2%, and it is a yellowish water-soluble liquid. It gives a pH range of 6.0 to 8.0. Because the card is brief, the supplier documents are the main reference for composition and claims.

Where it fits

The card places Jania Rubens Extract Liquid in firming and age-defying creams, creams for the look of wrinkles, body-contouring creams, moisturizing firming creams and body-shaping products. It also mentions synergy with Dermochlorella in moisturizing firming creams. This points to a firming story for both face and body.

Working with limited card data

When a card gives a without a full INCI, the supplier data sheet becomes essential. Ask for the full composition, the active content, the recommended level and any test data. This information is needed for the label, the safety assessment and any claim.

Face and body versions

A face cream and a body cream with the same active make a simple firming line. Keep the face version lighter and fragrance-free, and the body version richer with a massage-friendly texture.

Massage directions

For body products, suggest twice-daily application with firm, upward massage strokes.

Lab tip

Weigh the concentrate into a small beaker and rinse it into the batch with a little water to avoid losses.

Lot records

Keep each CoA with the batch file and note the lot used.

Troubleshooting

If the cream thins after adding the concentrate, check the pH and add it more slowly with gentle stirring.

Record keeping

Note the exact trade name, lot and amount of concentrate in every batch record, since actives may change composition between versions.

Record the lot number in your batch log so every production run can be traced back to its certificate of analysis. Retain a small sample of each lot for at least the shelf life of the finished product, since it makes later quality questions much easier to answer.

Storage

Store closed as the CoA directs. Close the container after use.
