Essenskin for mature skin

Essenskin is a Sederma liquid active designed for skin that has lost firmness and density with age. Its INCI is Water (Aqua), Pentylene Glycol, Polysorbate-20, 3-Aminopropane Sulfonic Acid, Calcium Hydroxymethionine, Hydroxyethylcellulose. It is a clear, thick, water-soluble liquid with a pH of 6.2, and the supplier recommends 2.5% in the finished product. The smallest pack is 0.33 oz (10 mL).

Calcium and the look of mature skin

Calcium plays a role in the renewal and organization of the upper skin layers. In mature skin, especially after menopause, skin tends to look thinner, less firm and less dense. Essenskin delivers calcium as calcium hydroxymethionine, a combination designed to bring it to the skin. In cosmetic terms, the aim is a firmer, denser and more toned look with regular use.

Signature formats

The supplier specification lists modeling products for the neck and face contours, age care products, toners, lifting systems and decollete products. Neck and jawline creams and serums are the signature use. The decollete shows sun exposure and loss of firmness early, so a dedicated cream completes a contour range. Toners with the active make a light first step, and lifting systems combine several products for a fuller routine.

Adding it to the batch

Stir Essenskin into the water phase below 40 °C, or into an emulsion after cooling, at 2.5%. Its thick texture blends easily into gels and light creams.
