Description

Caffeine is a familiar molecule and an equally familiar cosmetic ingredient. It appears in eye gels for a fresher-looking eye area, in body-contouring gels and in scalp serums for an energizing story. IO Encapsulated Caffeine Complex presents caffeine in a vesicle-based format, a liquid that disperses easily in water-based products.

Why a vesicle format

Encapsulation in vesicles helps distribute an active evenly in a formula and gives a smooth, conditioning feel from the vesicle components. The exact INCI, caffeine content and carrier are confirmed on the supplier CoA for each lot. Our catalog also includes Caffeine Liposomal, another encapsulated format, and plain caffeine for formulators who prefer to work with the pure material; compare documents to choose.

Specifications from the card

Liquid, water-soluble, pH 5.0 to 7.0. Applications: face serums, eye contour products, creams and gels; body-contouring creams and body shaping gels, toners; scalp serums, tonics and shampoos; professional ampoule concentrates, device-assisted care, intensive programs; SPA.

Product formats

Eye gel

A cooling gel for a less puffy-looking, fresher eye area in the morning.

Body gel

A light gel for massage on thighs, abdomen and arms, positioned for smoother-looking, toned-looking skin.

Scalp serum

A daily scalp serum for an energizing feel and stronger-looking hair.

Professional ampoules

Concentrated ampoules for salon protocols.

Formulating guidance

Add the ingredient during cool-down with gentle mixing to protect the vesicles. Avoid high shear and high levels of surfactants or alcohol in leave-on products. Keep the finished pH within 5.0 to 7.0. Combine with a cooling agent for eye and body gels. More energizing actives are listed under actives.

Claims

Use visual and sensory wording: fresher-looking, less puffy-looking eyes; smoother-looking, toned-looking skin; an energized scalp feel. Avoid weight or shape-change promises and base claims on testing of the finished product.

Who buys caffeine products

Busy professionals with tired-looking eyes, people preparing for summer and customers looking for scalp care. Caffeine is easy to explain and widely trusted.

Application tips

For eye gels, suggest gentle patting from the inner to the outer corner, and storing the product in the fridge for an extra cooling effect. For body gels, recommend daily massage with upward strokes.

Testing

Run stability at room temperature and 40 °C, checking pH and appearance. In gels, check that the vesicles do not cause haze over time.

Range planning

A caffeine family can cover the eyes, body and scalp with three distinct products that share one hero ingredient. Use matching packaging with different applicators: a metal tip for the eye gel, a tube for the body gel and a dropper or nozzle for the scalp serum. This approach keeps the brand message simple and gives customers several reasons to return. Seasonal campaigns can highlight the body gel in spring and the scalp serum in autumn.

Original recipe: morning eye gel, 100 g
