Description

A recombinant protein active, not a short peptide

CG-TGF-1 is a white, water-soluble powder sold under the trade name of the Korean developer that registered it. Its published INCI is rh-Polypeptide-22. Unlike the short synthetic peptides on most of our pages, which have three to eight amino acids, this is a recombinant polypeptide: a much larger protein made by biotechnology and supplied in very small, high-value amounts. CAS is N/A, because no CAS number is verified for this grade. The CoA for each lot confirms the full composition, including any carrier or stabilizer.

How it compares with other actives in the range

Most buyers browsing peptide powders are choosing between defined synthetic peptides such as Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 Solution or GHK-Cu. CG-TGF-1 belongs to a different class. Proteins like this are more sensitive to heat, shear and pH extremes than short peptides, so they need gentler handling and a simpler base. If you want a robust, budget-friendly peptide for a first project, a short peptide is the easier start.

Working with the powder

Dissolving

Weigh the powder on a calibrated balance, dissolve it completely in a small portion of the formula water before it meets the rest of the batch, and add that premix in cool-down, below 40 °C. Do not shake hard or whip the solution, because foaming and strong shear can damage large proteins. Swirl or stir slowly until the powder is fully dissolved.

Level

Take the use level from the supplier documentation for your lot. Because the powder is supplied in small packs, weigh carefully and record the exact amount in your batch sheet.

pH and compatibility

Keep the finished product in the pH range given by the supplier documentation. Avoid strong acids, high alcohol content, strong oxidizers and high salt loads, which can stress proteins. Check clarity and viscosity after the addition.

Product types that suit it

Premium serums, ampoules, sheet-mask essences and light gel-creams are the usual homes. A simple water-based serum with glycerin, a hyaluronic acid gel and a mild preservative keeps the system gentle. Two-part products, where the protein is kept dry until first use, are another option for brands that want to limit time in water.

Pairing ideas

Hyaluronic acid, panthenol, allantoin and short firming peptides are common partners. Add each active separately, and leave acids, retinoids and strong surfactants out of the same product.

Claims

Keep claims cosmetic: smoother, firmer-looking, more radiant skin with regular use. Do not describe the ingredient as acting on cells or tissue in a way that implies a physiological effect, and test the finished product before making any performance claim.

Lot handling and storage

Record appearance and pH on arrival, compare them with the CoA, and keep the CoA with your batch records so each finished batch can be traced to its lot. Keep the powder tightly closed, dry, cold and away from light; follow the storage temperature on the CoA, and let a cold container reach room temperature before opening so moisture does not condense on the powder.

Ordering

CG-TGF-1 is a raw material for cosmetic formulation use only. It is offered in gram packs so small labs can run trials before larger orders. It ships from Florida, usually within 1 to 2 business days, in the pack sizes shown above, and US shipping is free on orders of $50 or more.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is CG-TGF-1?

A recombinant protein active with the published INCI rh-Polypeptide-22, supplied as a white water-soluble powder.

Is it a short peptide?

No. It is a large recombinant polypeptide, so it needs gentler handling than short synthetic peptides.

How do I add it?

Dissolve it gently in formula water without foaming, then add the premix in cool-down, below 40 °C.

How should I store it?

Tightly closed, dry, cold and dark, following the CoA. Let it warm up before opening.
