Description
ACB Modified Pomegranate Enzyme PF
ACB Modified Pomegranate Enzyme PF is a liquid fermentation ingredient from Active Micro Technologies. Pomegranate is fermented with lactic acid bacteria to give a mild fruit-enzyme liquid for gentle surface renewal. The INCI is Lactobacillus/Punica Granatum Fruit Ferment Extract. It is a slightly viscous, yellow to amber liquid that dissolves fully in water, used at 1 to 10%. PF means preservative-free: the ingredient contains no conventional preservatives. The smallest pack is 0.33 oz (10 mL).
Why pomegranate and fermentation
Pomegranate is rich in polyphenols and a well-loved antioxidant story. Fermentation adds a second side, enzymes that help loosen dull surface cells. Together they give a fresh, clarifying concept for oily and combination skin and for the scalp. The mild profile is the reason children's cosmetics appear in the supplier specification, where strong exfoliants are not suitable.
A wide dose range
At the low end, the ferment adds a light enzyme touch to a toner. At the upper end, it can be the main renewal step in a mask or peel-style gel. Start low in daily leave-on products and move up in rinse-off and weekly formats.
Formats from the supplier specification
Clarifying toners and light gels for shine-prone skin, scalp tonics and shampoos for a fresh, comfortable scalp, and mild washes and lotions for children are all listed.
Processing and partners
Add the liquid to the water phase at cool-down, below 40 °C, and stir until uniform. Because it is preservative-free, the finished product needs a complete preservative system. Pair it with zinc gluconate in oil-control products, or with ABS Pap-Ango Enzyme PF for a second fruit enzyme. For an oil-phase partner, the pomegranate oil unrefined fits the same story. More options are in our cosmetic actives section.
