Description
Fruit enzymes from papaya and mango
ABS Pap-Ango Enzyme PF is a liquid exfoliating ingredient from Active Micro Technologies. It is made from papaya and mango fermented with lactic acid bacteria, a process that yields fruit enzymes in a stable, water-soluble form. The supplier specification gives a pH range of 2.0 to 7.0 and lists creams, serums and care cosmetics. The letters PF mean preservative-free: no conventional preservatives are added to the ingredient. Confirm the full INCI and enzyme activity on the certificate of analysis.
How enzyme exfoliation feels
Papaya is the source of papain, a protein-splitting enzyme, and mango adds its own fruit enzymes. Enzymes loosen the bonds between dead surface cells so they shed more easily. Compared to strong acids, enzymes give a softer, more even result and usually less tingling. That makes enzyme products popular for sensitive-looking skin and for daily-use exfoliating toners and masks.
Formats
Enzyme masks
A creamy or gel mask left on for ten minutes is a classic format for a smoother, brighter-looking complexion.
Exfoliating serums and toners
Leave-on products with a moderate dose support gentle daily renewal.
Cleansing powders and creams
Enzyme exfoliation pairs well with mild cleansers, though contact time in rinse-off products is short.
How to use it
Add the liquid to the water phase at cool-down, below 40 °C, and stir gently. Avoid high heat and strong surfactants, which reduce enzyme activity. Keep the finished pH in a range where the enzymes stay active; the supplier specification allows 2.0 to 7.0. Because the ingredient is preservative-free, the finished product needs a complete preservative system.
Partners
Enzyme products combine well with mild acids and soothing ingredients. Allantoin supports a comfortable feel, and betaine keeps the skin hydrated after exfoliation. More exfoliating and renewal concentrates are listed in the actives catalog.

Use instructions For formulators building consumer-facing cosmetics
Apply to clean skin, leave on for about ten minutes, then rinse with lukewarm water. Use two or three times a week.
Stability checks
Enzyme activity can drop over time and with warm storage. Run stability tests at room temperature and at a warmer condition, and check odor, color and viscosity. A slight color shift is normal for fruit-based ingredients.
Positioning against acid peels
Many consumers have tried glycolic or salicylic acid products and found them too strong. Enzyme exfoliation offers a softer alternative with a fruit-based story. Present the product as a gentle polish for a smoother, brighter-looking complexion, suitable for regular use. For stronger renewal, brands can add a small share of a mild acid, but then the product needs clear sun-protection advice and careful testing.
Storage
Store tightly closed in a cool place. Avoid heat and freezing.
