Description
Powder form
Spirulina Powder (SKU L30010) is dried, ground spirulina microalgae supplied as a fine, dark green powder. INCI: Spirulina Platensis Powder. CAS 223751-80-2. Packs: 100 g, 250 g, 500 g and 1 kg.
How to incorporate it
Spirulina does not dissolve. It disperses. Add it to the dry phase of powder masks, or pre-disperse it in water or glycerin and mix into the water phase of wet masks, scrubs and body products. In fluid products, use a thickener to keep the particles suspended. It colours a formula green and leaves visible particles, so it does not suit clear serums or gels.
Use level and CoA
Supplier data gives 1–5% depending on the application (Integrity Ingredients, IntegriBOTANICAL Spirulina). Check appearance, moisture and microbiology on the CoA for your lot, and include spirulina in your preservative challenge test for water-containing products.
