Description
About silk protein
Silk protein is a liquid that dissolves in water in any concentration. Silk has a strong luxury image, and silk proteins are known in cosmetics for the smooth, silky feel they give to hair and skin. Each lot comes with a CoA that confirms the INCI and level.
The silk story
Few words suggest softness and smoothness like silk. A product with silk protein can use that idea on the pack, and shoppers understand the benefit at once. It fits premium hair care and elegant skin care alike.
Hair care
Conditioners and masks
Conditioners and masks give the protein time on the hair. Hair feels smoother and looks glossier after rinsing.
Shampoos
In shampoos, silk protein adds a caring touch and helps hair feel softer.
Leave-in sprays
Leave-in products keep the protein on the hair and help with combing and shine.
Skin care
Serums and creams
In skin care, silk protein gives a light, silky finish and helps skin feel smoother. It works in serums, day creams and body lotions.
Processing
Add silk protein below 40 °C. Because it dissolves in any proportion, no premix is needed. Use a robust preservative system, as proteins support microbial growth.
Partners
Revitalizing hair mask with keratin and Collagen add more proteins to a hair line. Panthenol and polyquaternium-10 complete the conditioning system. Find related items in the actives catalog.
Testing
Use hair swatches to compare combing, shine and softness. Run stability tests and watch color and odor.
Claims
Use texture and look wording: silky, soft, smooth hair; glossy shine; skin that feels silky and smooth.
A silk hair line
A silk shampoo, conditioner and leave-in spray make a strong three-step set. Pearl-white packaging and a satin finish suit the theme.
Mixed protein blends
Combining silk with keratin or collagen lets a brand mention several proteins. Test each pair in your base to see how they affect feel and viscosity.
Body care
Silk body lotions and shower creams bring the same smooth feel to the whole body. A light floral fragrance suits the elegant theme.

Why proteins help hair
Hair is made mostly of protein, and its outer cuticle can lift and roughen with brushing, coloring and heat. Protein ingredients in hair products sit on the hair surface and help smooth the cuticle, so hair feels softer and reflects more light. Silk protein is especially popular because of its light, non-heavy feel, which suits fine hair as well as thicker textures. Explaining this simply on the product page helps shoppers understand the benefit. A short before-and-after photo of a hair swatch, taken under the same light, makes the result clear.
Price positioning
Silk products often sit in the premium segment. Elegant packaging and a short, clear story support the higher price.
Fine hair
For fine hair, keep the conditioner light and use silk protein for softness without weight.
Record the lot number in your batch log so every production run can be traced back to its certificate of analysis. Retain a small sample of each lot for at least the shelf life of the finished product, since it makes later quality questions much easier to answer.
Storage
Store closed in a cool place away from light. Close the bottle after use.
