Description
Pyridoxine at a glance
Pyridoxine is a powder that dissolves in water. It is a form of vitamin B6, one of the water-soluble B vitamins. In cosmetics vitamin B6 has a long tradition in scalp and hair care, as well as in products for oily skin. The supplier specification lists creams, balms, serums and hair cosmetics. Confirm purity on the supplier CoA.
B vitamins in personal care
B vitamins are popular in cosmetics because they are well known to consumers and fit many product stories. Panthenol (B5) and niacinamide (B3) are the best known. Pyridoxine (B6) often appears alongside them in hair tonics and scalp serums, as part of a vitamin complex for healthy-looking hair and a balanced scalp.

Processing
Dissolve pyridoxine in the water phase and add it at cool-down. Vitamin B6 is sensitive to light, so use opaque or amber packaging. Check the pH of the finished product and adjust it to a skin-friendly range.
Good partners
Niacinamide and D-panthenol build a B-vitamin complex. Thiamine adds vitamin B1. Browse more in the actives catalog.
Testing
Check color and pH over time and under light exposure. Vitamin solutions can yellow when exposed to light.

Vitamin complexes
Many hair tonics combine several B vitamins with amino acids and plant extracts. This makes a richer product story and covers several aspects of hair and scalp care. Balance the levels so the product stays light and non-sticky.
Light protection
Choose amber glass or opaque plastic, and advise users to store the product away from sunlight.
Range ideas
A scalp tonic, a vitamin shampoo and a conditioner can share pyridoxine.
Lot records
Keep each CoA with the batch file and note the lot used.
Positioning a vitamin story
Consumers recognize vitamin names and often look for them on hair care labels. Present pyridoxine as part of a balanced routine rather than as a single miracle ingredient. A clear, honest message, such as a vitamin-enriched tonic for a fresh scalp and healthy-looking hair, builds trust and matches what the product actually delivers.
Directions for scalp tonics
Suggest applying a few drops to the scalp after washing, massaging gently and leaving it in. Daily or every-other-day use suits most people. Advise users to avoid the eyes and to stop if the scalp feels uncomfortable.
Preservation
Water-based tonics need a reliable preservative even when they contain alcohol below about fifteen percent. Run a challenge test before launch.
Lab tip
Weigh small vitamin amounts on a precise scale and dissolve them fully before combining phases.
Storage
Store closed in a dry place away from light. Close the container after use.
