Description
Some moisturizers work only in creams. IO Moisturizing Shampoo Active Liquid is broader: its card lists solubility in water, alcohol, glycerin, glycols and surfactant systems, and applications that run from shampoos to sun care and shaving products.
Product data
Liquid. Soluble in water, alcohol, glycerin, glycols, alkyl ether sulfates and other surfactants. PH range 5.0 to 7.0. Applications from the card: shampoos, moisturizing serums, creams, sprays, sunscreen cosmetics, after-sun cosmetics and before and after shave cosmetics. The exact INCI and recommended level are confirmed on the supplier CoA for each lot.
Why broad solubility helps
An ingredient that dissolves in surfactant systems can be added to shampoos without clouding them. One that dissolves in alcohol fits refreshing sprays and aftershave splashes. That flexibility lets one moisturizing complex run through a whole range.
Product formats
Moisturizing shampoo
A cleanser that leaves hair and scalp feeling comfortable.
After-sun spray
A cooling spray for skin after a day outdoors.
Aftershave balm
A soothing-feel balm or splash for after shaving.
Pre-shave gel
A gel that softens the skin before shaving.
Serum and cream
Daily moisturizing face care.
Formulating guidance
Add it to the water phase, or directly into a surfactant blend or alcohol solution. Keep the finished pH within the listed range. Pair it with D-Panthenol for comfort, aloe vera gel in after-sun products and bisabolol in shaving care. Ingredients that pair well with this ingredient are collected under actives.
Claims
Use cosmetic wording such as hydrated, soft, comfortable skin and soft, manageable hair. Support numbers with tests on the finished product.
Who the products are for
Men's grooming brands, sun care lines and family hair care ranges that want one moisturizer across many products.
Sun care
In sunscreens, the complex supports comfort but never replaces UV filters. SPF claims depend only on standardized testing.
Shaving products
Shaving removes part of the skin surface lipids and moisture. A moisturizer in the aftershave helps the skin feel comfortable. Keep alcohol moderate and fragrance low.
Testing
Run stability at room temperature and 40 °C, checking pH, clarity and viscosity. In shampoos, check foam and viscosity after addition.
Packaging
Spray bottles for after-sun and splash products, tubes for gels and balms, pump bottles for shampoos.
Batch quality
Keep the CoA for each lot and store retained samples.
Range planning
A grooming line with pre-shave gel, aftershave balm and moisturizing shampoo can share one moisturizer and one story.
Original recipe: cooling after-sun spray, 100 g
Purified water 83.40 g, aloe vera juice 5.00 g, IO Moisturizing Shampoo Active Liquid 3.00 g as an example level per CoA, glycerin 2.00 g, propanediol 2.00 g, panthenol 2.00 g, ethanol 1.00 g, menthyl lactate 0.20 g, PEG-40 hydrogenated castor oil 0.40 g, preservative 1.00 g. Dissolve menthyl lactate in ethanol with the solubilizer, add to water with the remaining ingredients and stir. Adjust pH to about 5.5.
Hair care detail
In shampoos, the complex helps the scalp feel comfortable after washing and leaves hair feeling softer. Add it after the surfactants, then adjust viscosity with salt as usual. In conditioners and hair sprays, it adds moisture without heaviness, which suits fine hair.
Sensory design
Aftershave products are used on freshly shaved skin, so comfort is the first test. Panel tests right after shaving show whether the product stings, tightens or leaves tack.
Storage
Store the container closed in a cool place away from light.
