Description
Honey has been used on skin since ancient times. It holds moisture, feels comforting and carries a warm, natural image that customers recognize instantly. IO Honey Extract Liquid is a water-soluble active that brings this story into modern creams, serums and hair care.
Product data
Water-soluble. The card does not list applications or origin. The exact INCI, composition, source and recommended level are confirmed on the supplier CoA for each lot.
Honey in cosmetics
Honey is rich in sugars that bind water, which makes it a natural humectant. In cosmetics, honey and honey-derived ingredients are used for a soft, nourished feel and a gentle, natural message. Name honey on the label only as the INCI on the CoA allows.

Formulating guidance

Claims
Use cosmetic wording such as soft, nourished, comfortable skin and soft hair. Support numbers with tests on the finished product.
Who the products are for
Customers with dry skin, lovers of natural ingredients and gift buyers who like honey-themed products.
Vegan labeling
Honey-derived ingredients are not vegan. If the CoA shows a honey source, avoid vegan claims.
Color and scent
Honey ingredients can add a light amber color and a sweet note. Check stability under light and adjust fragrance if needed.
Testing
Run stability at room temperature, 40 °C and under light, checking pH, color and odor.

Amber or gold-toned packaging suits honey products. Tubes for lip and hand care, jars for creams and masks.

Lip care detail
Lip balms are anhydrous, so a water-soluble active needs a different approach. Use it in a lip mask or lip cream emulsion instead, or ask the supplier about an oil-dispersible grade. A creamy lip mask with honey worn overnight is a strong seasonal product.
Hair mask detail
In hair masks, add the active to the water phase during cool-down. Combined with a cationic conditioner and a light oil, it supports a soft, nourished feel on dry lengths.
Seasonal positioning
Honey products sell well in autumn and winter and as holiday gifts.
Sensory design
Honey concepts invite rich, creamy textures, but the after-feel should not be sticky. Balance humectants and test at five minutes.
Routine
Hand cream after each wash, lip mask at night, cream morning and evening.
Gifting
Honey-themed sets are popular holiday gifts.
Storage
Store the container closed in a cool place away from light.
