Description

Happybelle at a glance

Happybelle is a neurocosmetic active from Switzerland. Its INCI is Lecithin, Vitex Agnus Castus Extract, Glycerin, Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate, Tocopherol, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Cyclodextrin, Alcohol, Aqua. It is a light yellow to amber liquid that dissolves in water and glycols and has a pH of 4.0 to 7.0. The supplier also calls it an anti stress cosmetic active, a neuro cosmetic active, a Vitex neuro active and an urban skin active.

Skin and stress

Stress shows on the face. After a hard week the skin often looks dull, tired and uneven, feels tight and reacts more easily. Neurocosmetics is the field of skin care that builds products around this link between mood, stress and the look and feel of skin. The aim is comfort: skin that feels calm, looks rested and copes better with daily pressure. Happybelle was designed for this field, and its name already points to the happy, relaxed look brands want to promise.

What is inside

Vitex agnus castus

The chaste tree is a Mediterranean shrub with aromatic berries and a long tradition of use. In Happybelle its extract is the key plant active for the anti stress story.

Vitamin C and E

Ascorbyl tetraisopalmitate is an oil-soluble, stable form of vitamin C. Tocopherol is vitamin E. Together they add antioxidant protection against daily stress and pollution.

The carrier system

Lecithin, cyclodextrin and caprylic/capric triglyceride hold the oil-soluble parts in a form that mixes into water. This lets a formulator add both the plant extract and the vitamins in one step, even in light serums.

What it does

The supplier lists skin comfort and urban protection care, suitability for sensitive and stressed looking skin, a fresh and rested look, soothing and barrier support, anti-fatigue and wellness care and appearance-focused cosmetic and leave-on cosmetic use formulas. It combines well with moisturizing and lipid complexes and is in demand in Korean style and professional skin care.

Dosing by product

Serums, creams, emulsions and masks use 1 to 5%. Toners and essences use 0.5 to 2%. Hair care, for example soothing scalp serums, uses 0.5 to 2%.

How to formulate

Add Happybelle to the water phase or to the active phase at cool-down, below 40 °C. Keep the finished product between pH 4.0 and 7.0. For a comfort serum, combine it with bisabolol and ceramide NP for barrier support. Find more soothing actives in the cosmetic actives section.

Product ideas

Anti stress serums, comfort creams for sensitive skin, rested look eye creams, relax night masks, calming essences, soothing scalp serums, post procedure comfort care in salons and SPA relax rituals are the main concepts.

Sample recipe: comfort night serum, 100 g

Distilled water 85.70 g, Happybelle 4.00 g, glycerin 3.00 g, propanediol 3.00 g, bisabolol 0.30 g, xanthan gum 0.30 g, sodium hyaluronate 0.20 g, panthenol 1.00 g, preservative 1.00 g, citric acid solution 1.50 g. Disperse xanthan gum and sodium hyaluronate in glycerin, add the water and stir until smooth, add propanediol, panthenol, bisabolol premixed in propanediol, Happybelle and the preservative, and adjust to about pH 5.5.

Scalp and hair care

The supplier lists hair care at 0.5 to 2%, including scalp care and soothing scalp serums. A tight, uncomfortable feeling on the scalp is a common sign of stress, and a leave-on scalp serum with Happybelle fits a calm, wellness oriented hair line. Add it at the end of the process and keep the pH between 4.5 and 6.

Professional and SPA use

Post procedure care, skin leave-on cosmetic use programs, SPA relax rituals and urban wellness care are part of the supplier's list. In a salon, a comfort mask with up to 5% can end a facial, and a home care cream continues the effect.

Claims

Speak of skin that looks rested, calm and fresh, feels comfortable and copes better with daily stress.
