Dermosoft 700B is a clear, light yellow liquid made in Germany for natural cosmetics. Its INCI is Levulinic Acid, Sodium Levulinate, Glycerin, Aqua. Levulinic acid is an organic acid obtained from sugar cane, sodium levulinate is its salt, and the glycerin is plant-derived. The supplier states that the material is vegan and fully biodegradable. It is used at 0.5 to 1% in products with a pH between 4.0 and 6.0. The smallest pack is 0.33 oz (10 mL).
Where it fits in a preservation concept
Dermosoft 700B belongs to the green preservation ingredients. Natural brands use it to build a gentle system for creams, lotions, gels, toners and cleansers without classic synthetic preservatives. Why the pH window matters
Organic acid preservatives work in their acid form, so the finished product has to stay between pH 4.0 and 6.0, ideally toward the lower end. Measure the pH after every ingredient is in and adjust it with citric acid or sodium citrate solution. Products above pH 6.0 usually need a different or additional approach.
Product types
Leave-on creams, lotions, serums and gels with a natural positioning are the main use. Toners, cleansing gels and mild washes can use it as well, provided the pH stays in range.
Solubility and partners
The liquid dissolves in water, glycerin, glycerin blends and glycerin extracts, so it is easy to premix. Plant-based bases such as aloe vera juice work well with it, and the IO preservative and deodorizing active liquid is another option in a natural system.
