How to use it

Firming booster recipe, 100 g

Distilled water 84.10 g, Colla Gain 5.00 g, glycerin 4.00 g, propanediol 3.00 g, sodium hyaluronate 0.30 g, hydroxyethylcellulose 0.80 g, panthenol 1.00 g, phenoxyethanol and ethylhexylglycerin 1.00 g, sodium citrate solution 0.80 g. Hydrate the cellulose in water, dissolve the hyaluronate and panthenol, add glycerin and propanediol, then add Colla Gain and the preservative below 40 °C and adjust the pH to about 5.5.

Booster instructions For formulators building consumer-facing cosmetics

Mix two or three drops into the usual cream in the palm of the hand, or apply directly to the skin before the cream. Use morning and evening. A booster lets consumers keep their favorite cream and add a firming step.

Testing

Cutometer readings for firmness, ultrasound measurements of skin density and standardized photos over eight to twelve weeks are the usual tools for collagen-support claims.

Dose guidance

Boosters can carry a higher share of the active, since they are used in small amounts. In creams, use the middle of the recommended range.

Mature skin in context

Mature skin is usually drier, thinner-looking and slower to recover from stress. A collagen-support serum works best on a well-moisturized skin, so a range should also include a nourishing cream with barrier lipids.

Label language

Use words such as firmer-looking, plumper, smoother and more supple. Avoid wording that suggests the product rebuilds or replaces collagen, which goes beyond a cosmetic claim.
